About Bright by Text: Bright by Text is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting parents and families by providing them with essential information about child development through text messages. Our goal is to empower caregivers with knowledge and resources to foster healthy growth and development in children prenatally through childhood.

Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Content Specialist to join our team. The Content Specialist will play a crucial role in curating, developing, and managing high-quality content that supports our mission. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders, strategic planning, and continuous improvement of our content offerings to ensure they meet the needs of our audience effectively.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Contribute to Existing Content:
  • Help maintain the current content library, ensuring accuracy, relevance, impact and alignment with BBT’s mission.
  • Regularly review and update content to keep it fresh and impactful.
  • Write and/or edit blog posts relevant to caregivers/families for the BBT website.
  • Write and/or edit social media posts for BBT’s social channels.
  • Ensure that content is evidence-based, engaging, and accessible to a diverse audience.
2. Identify Content Gaps:
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews to identify gaps in existing content.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and the content team to develop solutions to fill these gaps, ensuring all developmental stages and topics are adequately covered.

3. Outreach to New Content Partners:

  • Identify potential new content partners that align with BBT’s mission and audience needs.
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to establish and cultivate these relationships.

4. Strategize on Feedback Utilization:

  • Develop strategies to use feedback from parents and families to make messages more impactful.
  • Implement changes based on feedback to improve content quality and relevance.

5. Collaborate with Team:

  • Attend regularly-scheduled team meetings, contributing insights and updates.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve common goals and support organizational objectives.

6. Help as Needed:

  • Assist with other content-related tasks as requested by the Chief Content Officer or other team members.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Communications, Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in content creation, management, and strategy.
  • Strong understanding of child development and early childhood education.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and feedback to inform content decisions.
  • Experience working with nonprofits or in a mission-driven environment is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
